When it comes to replacing or purchasing a boat ladder, there are various types available, each with its own set of advantages, disadvantages, and specific characteristics that make it suitable for certain scenarios while not as ideal for others. Below, we provide a brief overview of these features along with examples of each type of ladder.
Transom Mounted
These boat ladders are mounted on the transom of any vessel. They are particularly well-suited for sailboats or power boats that lack a swim platform.
Over-Platform / On-Platform Mounted
These swim ladders are installed on top of your boat's swim platform. They are highly prevalent and compatible with most boats featuring swim platforms. However, they do partially obstruct the swim platform.
Under-Platform Mounted
These boat ladders are mounted beneath the swim platform of your vessel. They ensure the top of your swim platform remains completely unobstructed.
Gunwale Mounted
These temporary boat ladders are attached to the gunwale (side) of your boat. They require no permanent mounting hardware.
